"Some schoolsdo (sic) not have facilities and you have been an asset in those regards and also informative."
I received this accolade early in my career. It's actual meaning escapes me to this day. I have this quote, as part of a longer document, printed on the letterhead stationary of the organization that gave it to me. It's signed by the "Executive director", again (sic), of the organization. I have this testomonial hanging in my office.
Fortunately, things have progressed more positively since that early notoriety. I was asked to write two "Survival Guides" for Apple Computer's Apple Multimedia Program. I contributed to the CD based product, "Lingo TimeSavers", a tool for users of Macromedia's Director. A year later I contributed to the New Riders book, "Inside Director 6 with Lingo" and a few years' on to the Friends of ED book, "Director 8.5 Studio".
One of the Director based projects that I worked on was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 2000. In 2002 a Flash web site that I worked on received a Gold award in ID Magazine's Interactive Media Design Review. There are many, many, other awards for work done by DDG, sitting in other people's offices.
I have a BA in Mass Communication from the University of Pittsburgh, and, in my spare time, I teach Interactive Media Design and Production courses at both Carnegie Mellon and Duquesne Universities.
